By 1995, at the height of the cigar boom, genuine African Cameroon wrapper had become nearly impossible to source, and the H. Upmann brand was reblended with Indonesian leaf out of necessity. Master blender Jose Seijas set out to correct that in 2003, sourcing high grade African Cameroon wrapper that Altadis had been storing and aging for years, and building the Vintage Cameroon around it as a return to the original taste that defined H. Upmann in the 1970s. The wrapper is aged African Cameroon over a Nicaraguan binder, with long filler from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Peru. Rated 92 by Cigar Aficionado. Multiple sizes, each sheathed in a cedar sleeve that doubles as a spill for lighting. Medium in body. Made at Tabacalera de Garcia in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
